SCFD

For Private property protection

SCFD

The SCFD is a smaller version from the SCFB™ and is intended to protect small gates and private property against floods. The working principle is very similar to that of the larger SCFB™ but in a reduced scale. Because of this reduced scale and the lighter materials the barrier is easy to install and in most circumstances the SCFD does not require a service pit and can be fit with a standard pipe connection to the sewer.

Dimensions

The SCFD can be built in length up to 4 meters and in heights till 600mm and 2 meter length till 900mm height. The basin from is made out of stainless steel. All SCFD will be build for the requested lengths and heights and com with an installation schedule for this length.

SCFB

For Secondary flood protection

SCFB steel basin

The steel basin are delivered complete with wall, supports blocks, lids seals and guide rail and is therefor easy to install. The basin is made of stainless steel for a longer life time. Depending on the requested length and location Hyflo can advise what the best option is for the specific location.

Dimensions

The SCFB steel basin can be build up to 8 meter in length and sections to require any length. The standard protection heights for the SCFB are 500mm , 1000mm, 1250mm, 1500mm. All SCFB will be build for the requested lengths and heights and come with an installation schedule for this length.

SCFB

For Primary flood protection

Dimensions

The SCFD can be built in length up to 4 meters and in heights till 600mm and 2 meter length till 900mm height. The basin from is made out of very durable PE-HD material and reinforced with stainless steel. All SCFD will be build for the requested lengths and heights and com with an installation schedule for this length.

SCFB Concrete basin.

The concrete basin as it can be pre-cast or cast-insitu to any length to suit the floating wall increments. The concrete basin can be built on site or at location so no heavy transport is necessary.  Depending on the requested length and location Hyflo will make the drawings for the concrete basin.  Direction can be accommodated with the use of guideposts. This concrete basin suits the full range of SCFB barriers.

Dimensions

The concrete basin can be built at any required length. The standard protection heights for the SCFB are 500mm , 1000mm, 1250mm, 1500mm, 2000mm. The floating walls ar fabricated in 1 m lengths and connected together to form the overall length of the required barrier. The connections of the walls to each other are done by a reinforced rubber strip and stainless-steel mounting strips and is then easy to install in the concrete basin.

self closing wave barrier (SCWB)

For protection against waves

SCWB

A device for reflecting waves at water and a method for protecting a quantity of coast The Self Closing Wave Barrier relates an installation for breaking waves on a water coast such as a riverside or bay. Waves can be build up by heavy winds and break normally on dikes and quays and can cause heavy damage by floods on buildings, dikes quays and flood barriers. It is known that cities as New York and Boston had to suffer with great damage to building on the quays. The waves on the quays, during the hurricane Sandy reached highs of several meters. The consequences where big floods and damage at the buildings on the quays and floods in the cities. The SCWB has for its object to increase the safety of the coast areas. The SCWB provides for this purpose an installation for stemming the waves to the coast. In combination with a flood barrier, as for example the Self Closing Flood Barrier, it will protect the quay and the city for waves and high water.

Working principle

The Self Closing Wave Barrier is a breaker element that is in a not flood condition on location hanging safely on a lid inside a basin in the ground. When the flood water reached, an activation level ensures the basin will start filling of the SCWB. Due to the upward pressure of the water, the breakwater element start float upwardly. In this phase, the rubber support rings are round, so the floating barrier can float up freely, when the floating barrier reached the top position. The rubber support compressed between the upper stop plate of the breaker element and the bottom stop plate of the floating barrier. This will compress the rubber supports. By compressing the rubber supports, they will expand to the sites and will fil up the space between the basin and the floating barrier. This creates a clamping action between the basin and the floating barrier on both the upper and the lower side. This gives the barrier the support to withstand the sideway forces of the waves. When the water in the basin retreats, the floating barrier and the rubber supports go back in their original round shape. The floating barrier can lower to his rest position.
